Funeral Feedback

Being a Funeral Celebrant in Melbourne is one of the most rewarding roles of my career.

After a recent Farewell Service for her dad, his daughter Denise came up to me and said…“Marg, that was perfect! You absolutely nailed it!! And dad would have been very chuffed!!

That’s why I love being a Funeral Celebrant. Getting it just right is both a privilege and an enormous responsibility!

I consider a Funeral to be one of the major celebrations of a person’s life, and there is no ‘one way’ to do this…only the way that is right for each individual person.

And getting it right is an art that requires both skill and experience.funeral celebrant melbourne

  • for some, dignified, and elegant is appropriate
  • for others a more intimate and relaxed ceremony is a better fit.

For the family, though, this can be a daunting and exhausting time, with so much to be done, whilst at the same time trying to manage the sadness and grief of losing one you love.

As a Funeral celebrant, I see my role is to relieve families of some of this stress by offering guidance, ideas and the surety of a warm, meaningful and dignified ceremony.

Where can you have a funeral?

I have conducted funerals in pubs, bowling clubs, golf clubs, homes, back yards, yacht clubs and many other places you may not even have considered possible!  I can also share with you the many different venues and potential locations for funerals around Melbourne…places that may have been special or associated with your loved one

More feedback from some of the lovely families around Mebourne that I have worked with…

“To dear Marg,

Words cannot express Mikey, Ivan and my appreciation for being the Celebrant for Trav. It was like you knew him! Thankyou so much for all your kind thoughts and all the compassion you showed at our time when we needed someone just like you. Thankyou from the bottom of our hearts.

I have had people ask who you were and given your phone number. Hope that was OK.

Love and good wishes, Ivan, Mikey and Justina.”

“Hi Marg,

Just wanted to say what a superb job you did yesterday. It was very moving and exactly what Mary would have wanted.  Love Josie”

“Hi Marg

Just to say thank you for conducting such a lovely ceremony for Mary. It was special that you had known her for so long. Lovely tributes from you and Simone and Montsalvat was a beautiful place chosen to hold it. Xx Elaine”

It was an absolute pleasure working with you and a privilege looking after Mary and Simone. The service was just beautiful. Please take care and I hope to work with you again. Regards,  Ellese xo”

“Dear Marg,

This is a note to express my thanks for officiating at my mother’s cremation service last week. I especially liked the personal effort you put into preparing the Eulogy by getting to “know” my mother, in getting a sense of who she was and what she was about. It gave your presentation of the Eulogy a more sincere quality than simply reading a speech about a stranger. It was a pleasure working with you in developing the service, and on the day it all flowed beautifully.

I’m glad we were put in touch, you were just the right person for the occasion. Regards, George”

“Dear Marg

Thank you so much for officiating at Peter’s Funeral service in December. Everyone commented on how much of a Celebration of his Life it was and that it certainly wasn’t a sad occasion. We will recommend your services in the future. Love Lyn and Family”
